Zacapa Carajillo
A carajillo is a traditional coffee cocktail. Learn how to make our Zacapa versions- both classic and smoked.

Ingredients
1.5 oz Zacapa No. 23 Rum
0.5 oz Vanilla Simple Syrup*
3 oz Hot Coffee
Vanilla Bean or Cinnamon Stick, for smoke
*Vanilla Simple Syrup (Can substitute with Simple Syrup)
1 cup Water
1 cup Sugar
1 tbsp Pure Vanilla Extract
Preparation
CLASSIC CARAJILLO
Combine Zacapa, vanilla simple syrup and hot coffee to a rocks glass.
Stir to combine and serve warm.
SMOKED CARAJILLO
Using a match, light the end of a vanilla bean or cinnamon stick until it begins to smoke.
Drop into a separate glass, and wait until the vessel fills with smoke, covering the top if necessary.
Add the remaining ingredients to the smoke-filled glass.
Let the mixture sit for a minute or two until fully infused with smoke.
Pour mixture into a rocks glass and serve warm.
Instructions
Combine water and sugar in a saucepan over medium-high heat.
Bring to a boil and stir until all sugar has dissolved.
Remove from heat and add vanilla extract. Stir to combine.
Allow simple syrup to cool before use and store in the fridge.
