In Guatemala, small handcrafted figures known as “quitapenas” are part of a long-standing cultural tradition that dates back to Mayan times. Made by hand in vibrant threads and textiles, they reflect the rich colors and craftsmanship of the country. As we celebrate Zacapa’s 50th anniversary, these handmade quitapenas are more than a mere detail; they are a tribute to our homeland, Guatemala – each one carrying a story of heritage, finishing every serve with meaning.
